Alpha Public Schools is a public charter school network of four schools educating approximately 1,900 scholars in east San Jose. Through strategic planning, instructional leadership, and data-driven decision-making, they empower educators to refine their teaching practices and drive student mastery. By cultivating a supportive and inclusive environment, they promote student social-emotional growth and reinforce a college-going culture. As a people leader, they recruit, develop, and retain high-performing faculty, coaching school leaders and teachers to uphold high expectations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The principal engages families and the broader community, building meaningful partnerships to support student success. With a focus on operational efficiency and long-term sustainability, they monitor key performance indicators and implement systems that ensure strong academic outcomes, student engagement, and staff retention. 

Deeply committed to Alpha’s mission, the Principal will actively contribute to the network’s success – both as a member of Alpha’s Cabinet and as part of the school leadership team – to ensure, alongside colleagues, that the network is well-positioned to meet its north star goal of 75% of alumni graduating from a 4-year college within 6 years, as well as three research-backed milestones: 

• Students read at or above grade level by the end of third grade. 
• Students demonstrate algebra readiness by the end of 8th grade, positioning them for algebra and advanced math coursework in high school.
• Students complete the full A–G course sequence with grades of C or better and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA across those courses, ensuring eligibility for CSU/UC admission and preparation for long-term college success.

• At least 3+ years of leadership experience and 8+ years in education
• Valid California teaching clear credential (or equivalent out-of-state license)
• Instructional & Data Expertise - ability to analyze and plan from student data and coach teachers and leaders to create excellent plans
• Leadership & Coaching Skills - able to coach and influence leaders, teachers and staff to improve student outcomes
• Administrative services credential (preferred)
• A Bachelor’s degree
• Commitment to Educational Equity - belief that all students from the community we serve have the capacity to go to and through college
