AMDA College of the Performing Arts is seeking responsible, welcoming, and engaged students to serve as Orientation Leaders for Summer 2026 New Student Orientation.
Orientation Leaders support incoming first-term students and students transferring from the AMDA New York campus as they transition into the AMDA community. This role helps ensure that new students feel welcomed, informed, and supported during Orientation and Move-In.
Orientation Leaders serve as role models for the AMDA community and work closely with Student Affairs staff to help new students begin their academic and campus experience successfully.
Position Overview
Orientation Leaders assist with New Student Orientation and Move-In activities while supporting new and transferring students during their first introduction to AMDA. This role reports to the Student Affairs team and requires professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
Orientation Leaders must be available June 8th - June 20th for required training and participation in New Student Orientation. Orientation Leaders must also be present for an 1 hour student event, called Orientation Check In, during Week 5 (July 20th - 24th) of the Summer 2026 term.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a positive role model and responsible member of the AMDA community
  • Support incoming and transferring students during Orientation and Move-In
  • Establish positive relationships with residential students by being visible and available during Orientation activities
  • Participate in required online and in-person training sessions prior to the start of the semester
  • Attend meetings with the supervisor and Student Affairs team members
  • Provide guidance and support to students with questions about campus life and resources
  • Uphold and personally abide by all Code of Conduct policies and applicable federal and state laws as outlined in the AMDA Student Handbook
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be an enrolled AMDA student for the Summer 2026 semester
  • Must have completed their 1st semester by the conclusion of the Spring 2026 academic term
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model and demonstrate commitment to AMDA academics and student life
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and respond to student questions or concerns
  • Reliable attendance and professionalism as determined by Student Affairs and Academic Services staff
  • Access to reliable technology and internet connection
Employment Details
  • Must be available June 8th - June 20th for training and New Student Orientation and during Week 5 (July 20th - 24th) for a 1 hour event called Orientation Check In.
  • Student employees are paid minimum wage in accordance with applicable state and local law
  • Student Worker positions are hired on a semester-to-semester basis and continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the current term
