The Talent Acquisition Specialist II is responsible for managing full cycle recruitment with a concentrated focus on strategic sourcing, pipeline development, and representing Cook Medical's employer brand in the talent market. This role partners closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to attract, assess, and hire top talent for complex, senior, and specialized positions. The Talent Acquisition Specialist II ensures all hiring practices comply with Cook global policies and applicable employment law, while actively contributing to the development of Cook’s internal Talent Acquisition team.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Manages full-cycle recruiting for leadership, professional, technical, and specialized roles - from intake through offer and onboarding.
- Partners with hiring managers to define role requirements, candidate profiles, hiring timelines, and selection strategies.
- Advises hiring managers on market trends, interviewing best practices, candidate evaluation, and compliant hiring decisions.
- Coordinates candidate interviews and extends verbal and written offers in partnership with HR leadership, HR Business Partners, and Compensation.
- Manages pre-employment background checks and other screening requirements per Cook Medical policy.
- Develops and executes sourcing strategies to identify and attract qualified talent through direct sourcing, referrals, professional networks, and talent communities.
- Builds and maintains talent pipelines for hard-to-fill and future hiring needs.
- Champions Cook Medical's brand and delivers a consistently positive candidate experience across all interactions, sourcing activities, and recruitment materials.
- Represents Cook Medical at career fairs, networking events, and university partnerships, and contributes to recruitment marketing content to build brand awareness.
- Ensures recruitment activities comply with Cook Medical policies and applicable employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FLSA, and OFCCP requirements.
- Maintains accurate candidate and requisition data within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and leverages recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, source of hire, and pipeline conversion rates, to inform hiring decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of Talent Acquisition processes, tools, training materials, and best practices to drive consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of talent acquisition, recruiting, or closely related HR experience, including demonstrated experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle, proactive sourcing, and candidate pipeline development.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Physical demands are typical of an office environment.
- May require occasional travel to Cook Medical sites for recruitment events, career fairs, or interviews.
- Experience recruiting in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, manufacturing) strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search).
- Strong knowledge of applicable employment laws including EEO, ADA, OFCCP, and FLSA.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain candidate pipelines for complex, senior, or niche roles.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to represent Cook Medical's brand professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of compensation philosophy and pay structures preferred.
