Job Summary
AmeriPharma is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intake Triager to support our growing pharmacy team. This position plays a key role in the initial processing of patient referrals and supports communication between patients, prescribers, and the pharmacy. If you have healthcare or pharmacy experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment — this role is for you!
Schedule Details
- Location: On-Site, Laguna Hills, CA 92653
- Training Location: On-Site, Orange, CA 92868 (timeframe will vary)
- 8 hour shift/40 hours a week within hours of operations: Monday - Friday 5:00am-6:00pm, Saturdays 7:30am-4pm
Duties & Responsibilities
- Triage incoming calls to the pharmacy and route appropriately
- Communicate with patients, physician offices, and pharmacies to request or clarify documentation
- Review clinical documents such as chart notes, lab results, and referrals
- Accurately input and manage patient demographics and medication referral information
- Create new patient and physician profiles; verify NPI and contact info
- Manage the intake of faxes and assign appropriately based on clinical content
- Monitor and respond to Intake department emails and inquiries
- Perform data entry and maintain updated referral tracking via Excel
- Support the Intake team and assist with additional duties as needed
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Prior healthcare or pharmacy experience (e.g., medical office, insurance, patient care coordination)
- Comfortable reviewing clinical documentation like patient histories, lab results, and referrals
- Strong multitasker who can manage multiple queues, emails, and chat windows
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting
