Supervising Counselor - (CMF)

· Supervise approximately six (6) AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff
· Evaluate staff performance and provide applicable coaching and training
· Track and monitor Contractor staff performance, including implementing corrective measures as needed
· Assess and regularly monitor counseling staff progress toward achieving and maintaining a valid AOD certification
· Supervise the orientation and intake processes of all participants newly assigned to programming
· Approve and monitor SUD relapse prevention/CBI action plan development
· Track all participants (names, counselor assignments, readiness to change, progress on plans, program stage, etc.)
· Provide training, oversight, and monitoring of all ARMS documentation to ensure compliance with the agreement
· Provide training to AOD Counseling staff, including OMCP Mentors
· Coordinate and supervise OMCP Mentors assigned to the program
· Provide support and resources to ensure OMCP Mentors complete the work‑experience portion of certification, including practice of all twelve Core Functions
· Provide verification of internship hours for AOD Counseling staff and OMCP Mentors
· Verify and record each OMCP Mentor’s monthly internship hours by the 5th of each month using the CDCR OMCP Verification of Internship Hours form in ARMS
· Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and CDCR‑contracted staff
· Other duties as assigned.

· Uses all types of vision, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, to complete daily tasks.
· Assesses the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
· Occasionally required to climb, bend, stretch, reach or stoop.
· Required to wear comfortable and location appropriate clothing and shoes.
· Ability to change directions as a priorities shift.
· Ability to thrive in environment that require the ability to adapt to changing circumstances,
· Ability to cope with occasionally difficult or temperamental students and faculty.
· Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position.
· Generally, in an indoor setting.
· Occasionally works in outdoor elements such as precipitation, snow and wind.
· Work is in an incarcerated setting.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud.
· The temperature in the work environment is generally moderate however can range from hot to cold seasonally.
· Seldom may be exposed to non-lethal chemical agents as administered in necessary use of force security instances.
· Occasionally travels locally and operates motor vehicles.

· Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical and social effects of drug abuse.
· Excellent organization, leadership and time management skill.
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
· Knowledge of contractual requirements of ISUDTP is essential.
· Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
· Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
· Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.
· Demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participants.
· Protect and maintain program participants’ health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information.
