Position Summary:
At Amphenol Industrial Operations, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations with a strong focus on automated systems. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
The Maintenance Supervisor provides hands-on technical leadership, mentors maintenance staff, and partners closely with production and engineering teams to optimize the performance of automated machinery. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, leadership capability, and experience working with automation systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities, prioritizing work orders and emergency repairs
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment including PLCs, robotics, conveyors, and control systems
Serve as the subject matter expert for automation systems and provide guidance to maintenance technicians
Perform advanced diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment
Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and OSHA requirements
Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and reporting
Partner with production to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Train and mentor team members to build technical skills, especially in automation
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing and root cause analysis
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or lead role
Strong experience with automation systems, including:
PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
HMI systems
Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of CMMS systems preferred
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of servo systems and motion control
Familiarity with industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, etc.)
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
