Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive counsel and legal support to clients in matters of Family Law including divorce, child custody, spousal support, domestic violence, equitable distribution, post-judgment modifications, and other related domestic relations matters.
  • Analyze, draft, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents relevant to Family Law, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and parenting plans.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion hearings, evidentiary hearings, mediation, and trial settings, and negotiate on their behalf.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of New Jersey State and Federal Laws relevant to Family Law.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, offering them reassurance and empathetic advice during stressful times.
  • Contribute positively to the culture.
  • Actively manage cases independently from beginning to end.
  • Manage and delegate legal work to a paralegal and/or legal support staff to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Handle all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing Family Law.
  • Trial experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling sensitive Family Law matters with discretion and integrity.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience handling high-conflict custody, support, and divorce matters preferred.
  • Experience with mediation and settlement-driven practice strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strong client communication and responsiveness.
