What We Offer
~1 min readThe Full Stack & AI-Augmented Development will play a critical role within the engineering organization here at Amwell. We are looking for a passionate, results-driven developer to build and scale our cloud-based healthcare solution. This role is for a hands-on builder who excels in a continuous delivery environment and is a power-user of AI-augmented development tools to drive improved code quality and velocity.Our software combines the best elements of the web, video, and telephony to bring patients and providers together in innovative new ways. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of features, from responsive front-end single page applications (SPAs) to robust back end microservices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Feature Development: Design and implement end-to-end functionality using JAVA, Node.js, Angular for Amwell’s Next Generation Software.
- →AI-Driven Productivity: Lead the adoption of advanced AI coding assistants (e.g., Kiro, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Agentic IDEs) to accelerate refactoring, documentation, and feature delivery.
- →Quality Engineering: Drive "shift-left" quality by using AI tools for automated test generation, deep-level debugging, and proactive security scanning.
- →Full SDLC Ownership: Active contributor from initial design through development, release, and ongoing operational support in a cloud-native environment.
- →Collaboration & Leadership: Engage effectively with Architecture, Product, and UX to translate complex requirements into high-performance code while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
- →Independent Execution: Work under minimal supervision; you will be provided with assignments and objectives and given wide latitude for independent judgment.
Requirements
~1 min read- 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with strong exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript (Angular, Node.js).
- Backend Expertise: Experience with writing cohesive and focused microservices using Java Spring Boot or NestJS.
- 3+ years of delivering highly scalable cloud-based applications in AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Data Systems: Enterprise-level experience with Relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB.
- Modern Testing: Fluent in writing unit, integration, and component tests; experience leveraging LLMs to achieve high test coverage and edge-case detection.
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using AI-augmented tools for complex code migrations, architectural refactoring, and rapid prototyping.
