Anaplan is solving the toughest challenges for Finance teams by delivering world-class flexibility through our out-of-the-box Finance Applications and Anaplan Intelligence platform. In this role within the Finance and Workforce Center of Excellence (CoE), you will oversee the development and scaling of extendable applications for planning, forecasting, and reporting—including Revenue, Profitability, and Strategic Finance Planning. You are responsible for ensuring these solutions meet high engineering standards while managing the technical roadmap and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery: Lead a team of Application Builders to deliver high-quality Finance Applications, ensuring projects meet rigorous deadlines and architectural standards.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Finance Product Management and Solution Architects to translate complex requirements into scalable application designs.
- Technical Oversight: Enforce UX standards and engineering best practices to ensure applications are intuitive, performant, and easily maintainable.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the integration of new Anaplan platform capabilities (AI, Workflow, Polaris) into existing applications based on market and customer feedback.
- Ecosystem Enablement: Collaborate with GTM and Professional Services to produce compelling demos, implementation guides, and technical best practices.
- SME Leadership: Serve as the primary internal and external technical expert for Finance Applications, supporting high-stakes sales opportunities and customer escalations.
Key Metrics
- On-Time Delivery: Successful management of release cycles and upgrade project deadlines for the Finance portfolio.
- Solution Adoption: Quality and scalability of applications as measured by customer implementation success and internal enablement metrics.
- Team Performance: Growth, certification levels, and output quality of the application building team.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 7+ years of experience in enterprise software development or financial systems, with at least 3 years specifically leading Anaplan implementation teams.
- Technical Expertise: Certified Anaplan Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner. Deep proficiency in multi-dimensional modeling and the full Anaplan platform suite.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing technical teams in an Agile environment and navigating cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the office of the CFO, including Financial Close, Consolidation, and FP&A processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in a technical discipline preferred.
