- Lead the technical vision and execution for the performance, scalability, and resiliency testing of our core capabilities, playing a vital role across Data Integrity and Pipeline Performance Initiatives.
- Architect, design, and build the next generation of highly available, secure, and scalable performance testing frameworks and load-generation strategies that ensure the robustness of our platform's backbone services.
- Collaborate with architects and Product Partners to aligncapacity planning and performance optimization patterns with long-term direction, applying a product mindset to ensure platform scale meets business and customer needs.
- Set the standard forperformance engineering excellence through hands-on leadership in test architecture, system profiling, bottleneck analysis, and strategic guidance across our backend technology stack (Java, Kotlin, Go, .NET).
- Mentor QA and software engineers across teams through performance test design input, framework reviews, and best practice sharing for highly concurrent systems.
- Champion innovation inperformance testing, synthetic data generation, chaos engineering, and overall platform scalability features.
- Drive technical planning for scale initiatives, shape our long-term performance strategy, and lead critical incident retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement in system reliability.
Requirements
~1 min read- A seasoned Performance/QA professional with 12+ years of experience building, testing, and scaling complex platform, infrastructure, or data-centric systems.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and implementing advanced performance testing frameworks (e.g., k6, Gatling, JMeter) for modern back-end applications and distributed systems using RESTful APIs and event-driven patterns.
- Extensive experience with application performance monitoring (APM) and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) to identify memory leaks, thread contention, and system bottlenecks.
- Extensive experience with K8s, public and private cloud; multi-region, multi-tenant topologies from a load, stress, and scalability perspective.
- Proven experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and high-velocity release workflows, with a strong focus on integrating automated performance gates throughout the pipeline.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of influencing engineering and product strategy to embed performance practices at every stage.
Nice to Have

- Experience integratingsynthetic data generation tools (e.g., Tonic AI, Clearbox AI, NV Nemo) to populate environments for large-scale load testing.
- Familiarity with leveragingAI/ML tools and assistants (e.g., Cursor) for test script generation and automation framework enhancement.
- Experience scaling quality efforts under high throughput demands and complex system interactions without sacrificing engineering velocity.
- Comfortable navigating globally distributed teams and asynchronous collaboration in a senior architectural leadership role.
