We are looking for an Area Practice Manager (APM) to lead the clinical and operational success of our Shropshire and North Wales region. In this role, you will have direct accountability for our Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrexham sites, working across each location Monday to Friday according to the needs of the practices.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience within a multi-site environment, ideally in healthcare or a similar service-led sector. You will be commercially aware, an inspiring and effective people leader, and passionate about developing high-performing teams that deliver outstanding service, clinical standards and patient care.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys being visible and hands-on across multiple sites, supporting teams to perform at their best while driving operational improvements and continued growth across the region
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, supportive line management to Practice Managers, Vets, Nurses, and Support Staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Take accountability for the financial performance of all sites, including a solid understanding of P&L management, KPIs, and cost control.
- Accountability for ensuring regulatory compliance across the region including Practice standards.
- Drive an outstanding client journey, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the clinical team to uphold high clinical standards and best practices.
- Lead any area expansion, overseeing the introduction of new sites.
- Maintain accountability for staffing levels and rota management, ensuring productivity across all teams.
- Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours teams, particularly during weekends and bank holidays.
Hours of Work
- Monday – Friday
- 40 hours per week
- Share of operational on-call 1:11 weekends rota with TOIL (Time Off in Lieu)
- Share of Bank holidays on call
