About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to support the project accounting lifecycle. Specifically, this role will be responsible for performing recurring accounting procedures, supporting engineering project managers with maintaining project data within the systems-of-record (e.g., NetSuite), as well as applying overtime revenue recognition methodologies to meet US GAAP and reporting objectives.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Collaborate with project accounting leadership to perform recurring accounting procedures, in connection with month-end-close and as part of the day-to-day
- →Review the data underlying revenue calculations to ensure accurate and updated timely (e.g., contract value/sales order amounts, cost budgets, actual costs applied, labor hours)
- →Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations utilizing percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies
- →Analyze work-in-progress schedules and investigate/resolve project variances, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, and data validation errors
- →Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies
- →Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation for project accounting audit areas
- →Develop and enhance project accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting capabilities within NetSuite as ANS continues its process maturity journey
- →Provide leadership and coaching of junior team members and interns
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Passion for continuous improvement
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
- Specialized higher education with an accounting focus
- CPA, CPA in-process, or other relevant licensure
- Experience with NetSuite, Pipedrive, Monday.com
- Overtime revenue recognition experience (i.e., project accounting/percentage-of-completion)
- Industry experience with engineering, construction, or other services organizations
- Public accounting firm experience
- Private-equity backed experience
