The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, Maintenance, the Director of Maintenance is a senior leadership role responsible for the performance of a multi-aircraft AMO by bringing together regulatory excellence, people leadership, and operational discipline. This role is for a hands-on maintenance leader with deep technical credibility, strong Transport Canada relationships, and the drive to build a high-performing team that consistently delivers safe, high-quality maintenance outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the AMO’s relationship with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), including approvals, audits, correspondence, and findings
  • Drive full compliance with CARs, approved manuals, company policies, and evolving regulatory requirements
  • Champion safety and quality across the operation by setting standards, reinforcing best practices, and addressing risk early
  • Set production targets and work with the Production Manager accountable for daily execution; monitor AME utilization and billing performance, and drive corrective actions
  • Strengthen defect prevention and corrective action by tracking trends, approving corrective actions for recurring issues, and ensuring timely resolution
  • Oversee maintenance workmanship and adherence to manufacturer recommendations and industry standards; escalate concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Ensure current technical publications are available, controlled, and used by maintenance personnel
  • Lead and develop technical (hangar) teams through coaching, performance management, and succession planning
  • Build and maintain a maintenance personnel training program (initial, recurrent, and type-related)
  • Lead third-party AMO work package execution (as required), including acting as the point of contact, managing findings, monitoring labour/parts costs, and ensuring release requirements are met
  • Review unserviceable parts for disposition, and support accurate and complete invoicing practices
  • Support recruitment of technical talent and participate in an on-call leadership rotation as scheduled

Falcon 2000EX (Honeywell EASy II), Challenger 604 (Fusion) / 605 (Proline 21), Citation X (Primus 2000), Citation V/Ultra (GNT 650/750), Citation Excel (Primus 1000), Hawker 800XP (Primus 2000) , Lear 75 (Garmin 5000), Gulfstream 150 (Proline 21), King Air 350 (Proline Fusion)


Your Qualifications

  • Valid TCCA M2 AME licence with 10+ years of aviation maintenance experience
  • 5+ years in a supervisory/leadership role within a maintenance environment
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and proven experience working with TCCA
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and sound operational decision-making
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to obtain/hold a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Valid passport and ability to travel worldwide as required
  • Authorization to work in Canada
