JOB TITLE: Data Analyst
RESPONSIBLE TO: Analytics Data Engineer
MAIN LOCATION: Jordan, Amman
Objective:
The Network Optimisation Data Analyst plays a key role in shaping Australia Post’s 15-year network strategy by identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance across multiple networks.
This role is required in the delivery of data driven insights that inform network planning, operational improvement, and strategic optimisation initiatives in addition to contributing to the development and maintenance of analytical models, as well as development of reports and dashboards to support business decision making.
The role also assists with network modelling activities by preparing inputs, reviewing outputs, and helping translate findings into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders. This position provides a strong foundation in business analysis, SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools, with exposure to supply chain and network optimisation concepts considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
· Support the delivery of data-driven analysis to inform network planning, operational improvement, and strategic optimisation initiatives across Australia Post’s networks.
· Prepare, extract, and validate data using SQL and other reporting and analysis tools to support network modelling, performance analysis, and scenario assessments.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs that provide visibility of network performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
· Contribute to the preparation of inputs for network modelling and scenario analysis activities, and assist in reviewing outputs to identify key insights and implications.
· Support the translation of analytical findings into clear summaries, presentations, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
· Work with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify business questions, and ensure analysis is aligned to business needs.
Financial (e.g., budget expenditure, revenue, lending authority, profit targets etc.)
· Support the development of financial and operational analysis to assess the potential impacts of network strategies, business initiatives, and investment options.
· Assist in the preparation of scenario comparisons, sensitivity analysis, and supporting materials used in business case development and planning processes.
· Contribute to the analysis of cost, service, and operational data to support data driven recommendations.
· Provide analytical support to projects and initiatives by helping track deliverables, preparing relevant data and insights, and supporting project documentation where required.

· Support and promote a continuous improvement mindset across the Strategy and Planning to team, supporting initiatives that drive improvements in scenario analysis and contribute to broader improvements in network operations.
