Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Laser Operator will manage laser operations including setting up and operating laser, loading and unloading material, and running the required production programs.
- →Ensure that customer orders are completed according to schedule, while maximizing machine run time and productivity.
- →Read part drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure parts are cut to customer specifications.
- →Modify cut conditions, speeds, feeds and focus to ensure quality cut, and optimal machine operation
- →Measure and inspect dimensions of in-process and finished product using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications for quality.
- →Resolve quality and mechanical problems, making minor equipment adjustments as needed.
- →Inspect and maintain workplace and equipment for compliance with safety requirements.
- →Perform preventative maintenance on a daily and weekly basis.
- →Set up future jobs on other lasers while machines are operating and cutting.
- →Run manual radial drill.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum 2+ years’ work experience in manufacturing environment.
- Ability to problem solve, multitask, and work independently.
- Ability to read blueprints, proficient math and computer skills.
Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). - Walking:
Frequent walking throughout the production floor. - Lifting and Carrying:
- Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
- Pushing and Pulling:
Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials. - Repetitive Motions:
Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging). - Manual Dexterity:
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools. - Climbing:
Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas. - Visual and Hearing Requirements:
- Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
- Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
- Environmental Tolerance:
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
- Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
