Role Purpose

Appen's Finance team plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency that underpins our global business. The purpose of this role is to manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and vendor relationships. This role sits at the heart of Finance operations, with broad exposure to internal controls, month-end reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

•Manage the full AP cycle from invoice receipt through to payment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely approvals at every stage.

•Process vendor payments on schedule, including out-of-cycle payments, employee cash advances, and reimbursements.

•Maintain vendor records, including setup and ongoing updates to vendor profiles, supporting strong supplier relationships.

•Review and code invoices in line with company policies, internal controls, and procedures to ensure financial accuracy.

•Support month-end close activities including reconciliation of the AP sub ledger, AP aging, and BIR Expanded Withholding Tax reporting.

•Maintain an organised filing system for financial records and documents to ensure information is accessible and audit-ready.

•Identify and surface process improvement and automation opportunities within the AP function.

•Assist with year-end audit activities and support the AP Supervisor and broader Finance team as required.

•Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or an Accounting-related discipline.

•Fresh graduate or up to two years of relevant AP or finance experience in a medium to large organisation.

•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.

•Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of transactions accurately in a fast-paced environment.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

•Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to respond to internal and external inquiries professionally.

•Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changed priorities or processes.
