ARS is seeking a FAA Reliability and Maintainability Engineer at Wright-Patterson AFB. The candidate will provide Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) engineering support for the KC-46 program, with emphasis on FAA maintenance reliability processes and aircraft sustainment. Coordinate with CASS Data Analysts to identify and validate maintenance data supporting task escalation and de-escalation, review FRACAS and reliability reports, analyze field failure data using G081, and support the classification and resolution of deficiency reports. Assist in developing and maintaining R&M processes aligned with program acquisition, sustainment, IMP/IMS milestones, airworthiness, OSS&E, and other applicable Air Force engineering requirements. Support technical evaluations of FAA bulletins, ECPs, modification proposals, operational and support issues, system reliability, maintainability, safety, and readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) processes for the KC-46 program, ensuring requirements are integrated throughout acquisition and sustainment activities.
  • Apply FAA maintenance reliability processes and procedures to optimize aircraft maintenance, reliability, and sustainment.
  • Coordinate with CASS Data Analysts to identify and validate maintenance data supporting maintenance task escalation and de-escalation.
  • Review FRACAS and reliability reports, analyze field failure data using G081, and support Deficiency Report (DR) classification and resolution.
  • Support airworthiness, OSS&E, MECSIP, system integrity, and R&M verification activities throughout applicable program milestones.
  • Evaluate FAA bulletins, ECPs, CCPs, modification proposals, DMSMS issues, and other engineering recommendations for operational and support impacts.
  • Perform and support technical evaluations, engineering studies, risk assessments, design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and program reviews to improve aircraft reliability, maintainability, safety, and readiness.

Requirements

  • Must be US Citizen
  • Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with 12+ years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including 5+ years in DoD; OR Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) with 15+ years of experience in program management, including 5+ years in DoD
  • Possess Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of FAA maintenance reliability processes and procedures supporting aircraft maintenance program optimization.
  • Experience with Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) engineering for aircraft or complex weapon systems, including FRACAS, reliability reporting, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness, OSS&E, system integrity, and sustainment engineering principles and processes.
  • Familiarity with CASS and/or G081 maintenance data is highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of DoD and U.S. Air Force engineering, acquisition, and sustainment processes.
