• →Design, implement, operate, and maintain geospatial databases and data storage solutions.
• →Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal system functionality.
• →Configure and manage geodatabases, including schema design, data models, and metadata structures.
• →Support data integration, ingestion, and transformation across geospatial systems.
• →Implement database security, access controls, and data protection measures.
• →Collaborate with system, software, and security teams to configure hardware and software environments.
• →Develop and maintain scripts and automation for database maintenance, monitoring, and optimization.
• →Support backup, recovery, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes.
• →Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
• →Maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, and processes.
• →Ensure compliance with DHS standards, data policies, and system requirements.

Requirements: 

• →Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• →7+ years of experience managing and maintaining geospatial or database systems.
• →Experience designing, implementing, and managing geodatabases.
• →Experience with database management systems (DBMS) and data architecture.
• →Experience monitoring database performance and implementing optimization strategies.
• →Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data workflows.
• →Strong understanding of database security, access controls, and data protection.
• →Experience with scripting or automation for database maintenance (e.g., Python, SQL).
• →Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• →Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• →Experience supporting DHS or other federal government programs.
• →Familiarity with Esri geospatial platforms and enterprise GIS environments.
• →Experience working with cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3).
• →Experience with data federation, REST services, and system integration.
• →Familiarity with metadata standards and geospatial data lifecycle management.
