Responsibilities
~1 min read- Communicates effectively through appropriate channels among all levels of the organization to advance fiscal integrity as a liaison between information services, finance and clinical departments, resolving issues regarding the selection and implementation or modification of computerized managerial systems.
- Guides Nursing Patient Care Services Leadership with Financial Operations Transformation alignment
- Leads productivity management, budgeting, and continuous forecast efforts in partnership with nurse leaders and the Centralus finance team
- Monitors pay practices to recognize trends and partners with teams to reduce expenses
- Participates in activities to enhance knowledge and growth of current practices and alignment with business/financial indicators, and potential future directions within nursing informatics, technology and business intelligence
- Assists operational leaders in developing operating/capital budget by reviewing budget from past years, analyzes trends, current needs, develops action plans to minimize department variances with corrective action plans and manages nursing finance dashboard with appropriate leaders to develop action plans
- Mentors and coaches Patient Care Service Leadership team and staff in leadership skills to identify major budget variances and financial trends; recommends potential area of savings and revenue enhancement until effectively managed
- Collaborates, partners effectively with interdependent relationships to ensure comprehensive approach to the organization fiscal goals minimizing ambiguity of role responsibility
- Demonstrates personal & professional accountability, ethical behavioral championing a just culture framework. Keeps emotions from interfering with responding effectively to customer/staff needs.
- Demonstrates accountability to achieve excellence by selecting the most effective approach using available resources and change management framework
- Compiles and analyzes data to determine needs and expenses of patient care inclusive of vacancies, labor expenses; assists with opportunities for viable budget models and resources available to support business decision making.
- Partners with leaders to ensure any new initiatives have ROI established and tracks/trends projects ROI inclusive of staffing models
- Achieves fiscal goals while planning, forecasts, organizes and evaluates processes necessary to improve financial and operational
- Collaborates on development, monitors, analyzes and employs strategies to improve divisional outcomes and to promote high reliability and accountability in clinical practice while achieving fiscal integrity
- Partners with physician leaders and demonstrates ability to integrate system-wide outcomes into the framework of clinical effectiveness to elevate patient care delivery and patient safety.
Requirements
~2 min read- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- A Master's degree required (MSN, MBA, MHA, or leadership focused)
- RN License in the State of New York, preferred
- 8-10 years of acute care hospital experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital leadership experience as a director with strong financial skills
- Proven experience in leading financial improvement projects within nursing and patient care services division
- Certification in nursing leadership preferred
