About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to perform high‑quality pediatric echocardiograms and support our pediatric cardiology team. This role works closely with the pediatric cardiologist and reports to the Cardiac Services Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Perform high‑quality pediatric and congenital heart disease echocardiograms in outpatient, inpatient, nursery, and NICU settings.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
  • Immediately report urgent or critical findings to the pediatric cardiologist.
  • Document studies in the EMR and enter preliminary findings in PACS.
  • Provide timely preliminary results to the pediatric cardiologist, prioritizing STAT and inpatient studies.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and a compassionate bedside manner.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
  • Assist with training new sonographers, students, or staff.
  • Complete all required annual education.
  • Deliver excellent customer and patient service with clear, caring communication.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

  • Active Pediatric Echocardiography certification required (RDCS through ARDMS, RCS through CCI, or approved equivalent).
  • Must meet ongoing continuing education requirements.
  • Graduation from an approved program preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year of full‑time pediatric echocardiography experience required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain repetitive arm positions during scanning.
  • Ability to move equipment and assist or transport patients.
  • Lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • Category I: Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
