Design and engineer large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including containerized solutions and DC-coupled architectures.
Perform complex electrical modeling to ensure BESS integration optimizes frequency regulation and peak shaving for high-load AI training environments.
Select and validate battery chemistries, inverters (PCS), and thermal management systems to maximize safety and cycle life.
Lead onsite commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting of battery racks and power conversion systems.
Collaborate with grid interconnection teams to ensure compliance with local Florida utility standards and NERC/FERC regulations.
Requirements
~1 min read- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience specifically in utility-scale BESS or power electronics.
- Expertise in Power System Studies (e.g., PSSE, ETAP, or PSCAD).
- Deep understanding of NFPA 855 and UL 9540 safety standards.
