About the Role
~1 min readWe’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data team supporting large-scale pharma and life sciences initiatives. This role will focus on building and optimising modern data platforms using Azure Databricks and graph database technologies, helping deliver scalable and insight-driven solutions across complex scientific and business datasets.
You’ll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design high-quality data pipelines and support advanced analytics use cases within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks
- Build and optimise transformations using PySpark and SQL
- Support development of curated and trusted data layers
- Work with large and complex datasets in cloud-based environments
- Ensure data quality, governance, and traceability across platforms
- Work with graph database technologies to model highly connected datasets
- Support relationship-driven analytics and querying
- Design efficient and scalable data structures for complex business domains
- Collaborate on data architecture and modelling best practices
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements
- Translate business needs into scalable engineering solutions
- Contribute to agile ceremonies, sprint delivery, and technical documentation
- Share knowledge and engineering best practices across the wider team
- Strong experience with Azure Databricks
- Solid hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL
- Experience working with graph databases and connected data models
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering principles and cloud platforms
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise datasets
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience within the pharma or life sciences domain
- Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Knowledge of Delta Lake or medallion architecture
- Experience with Azure cloud services
- Familiarity with CI/CD or DevOps practices
