Position Overview
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals requiring urgent or emergent treatment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond quickly to life-threatening conditions, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (days vary)
- Department: Emergency Department
- Travel: None required
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)
- Rapidly assess and prioritize patients through triage based on acuity
- Recognize and respond to emergency and life-threatening conditions
- Administer medications using electronic health record (EHR) systems and barcode scanning
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments for all age groups
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and prevention
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant care environment
- Serve as a patient advocate while delivering compassionate, respectful care
- Assist with procedures and emergency interventions as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (CPR) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required during orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 3 months
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – preferred
- Experience: Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred

Employment Requirements
