ASRC Federal Professional Services is seeking a Tractor Operator for a (6 months) Temporary full-time position to support ongoing activities on our program in Avon Park, FL.
Summary:
Primarily responsible for maintaining the improved and semi-improved grounds of the Avon Park Air Force Range (APAFR).
Must be particularly adept in operation of a zero-turn mower, gas trimmer, and backpack blower.
Must be willing and able to perform routine equipment maintenance and be able to identify and communicate any mechanical/functional issues for required repairs of the equipment being operated.
Must be able to perform duties outside in Florida summer climate conditions.
Base work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional requirements include all associated tasks involved in maintaining site landscaping to include lawns, trees, shrubs, flower beds, and irrigation systems. Such tasks include but are not limited to:
Operating pickup truck and trailer to transport equipment to and from work sites on APAFR.
Operating, fueling, and maintaining mowers and power tools including power saws, pressure washers and line and hedge trimmers.
Trimming trees, hedges and shrubs.
Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws and shovels.
Keeping grounds free from trash, litter and debris.
Hauling and spreading mulch.
Requirements:
Meet and maintain required government security requirements.
Have high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
Possess and maintain a valid FL driver’s license.
Be able to pass a background check.
Possess competent written and verbal communications skills to include ability to complete equipment inspection, training, and other company forms to the fullest extent possible.
Have ability to self-identify and self-perform work.
Provide for, demonstrate, and always maintain a safe working environment.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working on heavy equipment such as tractors and forklifts.
Experience performing equipment maintenance
