We are looking for an analytically sharp, execution-driven Senior Capacity Planning Analyst to own and evolve capacity planning infrastructure across Astera Labs' supply chain. This role sits at the intersection of supply chain operations, data engineering, and business intelligence, translating raw data from multiple internal and external sources into scalable reporting, forecasting, and decision-support tools that enable the business to plan ahead and execute with confidence.

You will build and maintain capacity models spanning short, mid, and long-range horizons, drive scenario planning for product ramps and demand variability, and serve as the supply chain command center for operational visibility. If you thrive on critical-path problems, are energized by cross-functional urgency, and want your work to directly accelerate product delivery in a high-growth semiconductor company, this role is built for you.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Own and continuously improve capacity planning processes, models, and reporting infrastructure across assigned product lines and manufacturing partners.

  • Translate demand forecasts and SIOP outputs into resource-constrained production plans, incorporating supplier lead times, yield, equipment, and labor constraints.

  • Design and execute multi-scenario capacity models (e.g., demand volatility, NPI ramps, supplier allocation shifts) and provide data-driven recommendations with clear trade-offs.

  • Develop and maintain an 18-month rolling capacity forecast in partnership with Supply Planning and Business Units, accounting for product ramps and shifting customer demand.

  • Identify, quantify, and prioritize systemic bottlenecks and capacity risks; lead cross-functional initiatives to resolve constraints.

  • Build and manage data pipelines (ETL) that extract, transform, and load data from internal and external sources (Databricks, Oracle, APIs, Excel) into reporting environments.

  • Set up and maintain API connections to automate ingestion of operational, supply chain, and manufacturing data.

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards, visualizations, and heatmap reporting to highlight shortages, supply gaps, capacity constraints, and recovery plans.

  • Generate Oracle database reports and ensure data accuracy, governance, and reporting consistency across planning systems.

  • Develop and automate recurring reports to support planning, forecasting, inventory/WIP visibility, and operational decision-making.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, IT, Finance, and Business Units to identify reporting needs, align capacity plans, and implement automation solutions.

  • Serve as the capacity planning point of contact for assigned programs or product families, providing weekly status updates covering availability, recovery plans, and schedule risk.

  • Manage reporting and automation projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering through deployment, documentation, and user adoption.

  • Communicate planning risks, capacity trade-offs, and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

  • Support NPI and product ramp activities by translating engineering builds and qualification timelines into capacity and throughput models.

Requirements

~2 min read
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in capacity planning, supply chain analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a related role within semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing.

  • Hands-on experience with data engineering, including data transformation, pipeline development, ETL workflows, and structuring large datasets.

  • Proficiency in Power BI (or equivalent) for dashboard development, reporting, and data visualization.

  • Experience working with Databricks, Oracle, or similar database/cloud data platforms.

  • Experience setting up and maintaining API-based data connections for automated data ingestion.

  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration into reporting platforms.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including building maintainable, business-friendly files for end-user updates.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and scenario planning skills with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Experience with advanced planning systems such as Kinaxis, Anaplan, SAP PP/DS, or OMP.

  • Familiarity with finite capacity planning, constraint modeling, and SIOP/S&OE processes.

  • Experience supporting NPI programs, product ramps, or pilot manufacturing readiness.

  • Working knowledge of semiconductor supply chain dynamics: foundry, OSAT, ATE, substrate, and packaging operations.

  • Experience with multi-site capacity balancing and supplier allocation scenario planning.

  • Track record of deploying planning tools or systems and driving cross-functional user adoption.

Base salary range is $160,000 to $200,000 depending on experience, level, and business need. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits.
