Astra is building mission-critical infrastructure for moving money at scale. Our platform processes billions in annual transaction volume with 99.9%+ uptime, powering real-time transfers, bank debits, card disbursements, and complex financial compliance systems. We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements.

Astra is a payments infrastructure and money movement API platform powering fintech clients across the country. We're looking for a Finance Operations Analyst to help keep our internal financial engine running cleanly as we scale - from accounts payable and receivable to reconciliation and reporting.. You will work at the intersection of finance, engineering, and payments to design and operate best-in-class financial processes around billing and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Own day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and client billing

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis

  • Reconcile internal financial records against bank statements, payment processor reports, and other third-party data sources

  • Track and manage vendor contracts, payment terms, and renewal timelines

  • Prepare recurring financial reports and dashboards for leadership (cash position, burn, AP/AR aging, etc.)

  • Assist with expense management, corporate card administration, and employee reimbursements

  • Help maintain and improve internal financial controls and documentation as the company scales

  • Partner with Payments Operations and other teams on cross-functional financial questions (e.g., reserve requirements, settlement timing impacts on cash flow)

  • Work with Engineering to track, analyze, and optimize billing and infrastructure/vendor spend, identifying cost drivers and efficiency opportunities

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and process improvement projects as they come up

  • 2+ years of experience in a finance, accounting, or financial operations role (fintech or startup experience a plus)

  • Solid understanding of core accounting concepts (accruals, reconciliations, close processes)

  • Experience managing AP/AR or similar transactional finance workflows

  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with high volumes of financial data

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize across multiple recurring deadlines, and flag issues proactively

  • Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort working with vendors and cross-functional partners

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • No certifications required; progress toward or holding a CPA/CFA is a plus but not expected at this level

  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), including formulas and pivot tables for reconciliation and reporting

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP/general ledger systems)

  • Comfort with SQL or willingness to learn (BigQuery) for pulling and reconciling transactional data is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a payments, fintech, or financial services company
