## About the Role
The Senior Manager, ASFI Regulatory Reporting sits at a critical intersection of Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Technology. In this important role, you will help lead the end-to-end reporting processes, governance, and the strategic evolution of our regulatory reporting platform. You are a strategic translator, bridging the gap between regulatory reporting objectives and technical execution to ensure our reporting platform is scalable and resilient.
Working in close partnership with our External Reporting team and key execution partners, you will align regulatory returns with financial reporting standards, ensuring enterprise-wide consistency and data integrity. As a key advisor to the Managing Director, ASFI Regulatory Reporting, you will champion the strategic direction of the team, anticipating regulatory shifts and helping architect the organization’s response to new or changing guidelines. Leveraging deep operational experience in the application of IFRS standards, you will ensure alignment and consistency between risk-based credit models, finance-based reporting, and our evolving regulatory disclosure requirements.
We are looking for a modern finance professional who thrives where accounting, policy, data, and technology converge. You are a natural collaborator who leverages advanced data capabilities to drive results, navigate ambiguity, and champion delivery excellence.
## Accountabilities
* Process Ownership: Drive the end-to-end regulatory reporting process, ensuring the integrity of data flows from source to reporting. You will maintain rigorous standards for data accuracy and completeness, ensuring our regulatory reporting consistently reflects a level of excellence that aligns with enterprise-wide standards of governance and integrity.
* Strategic Advisory and Roadmap Planning: Partner with the Managing Director to set the team’s strategic direction. You will proactively anticipate shifts in both the regulatory environment and ATB’s evolving business landscape to ensure data and reporting readiness.
* Functional Leadership and Collaborative Delivery: Partner closely with a team of Regulatory Reporting Specialists while serving as a functional lead across a matrixed network of execution partners. You excel at driving delivery excellence through strong relationship-management and aligning cross-functional stakeholders outside your direct line to achieve shared enterprise objectives.
* IFRS Application and Oversight: Serve as the team’s functional expert for IFRS standards. Leveraging deep operational experience in the application of these standards to financial reporting, you will drive the alignment and consistency between financial reporting, credit-risk models, and regulatory reporting data.
* Change Integration and Business Readiness: Stay at the forefront of ATB’s evolving business activities by evaluating business impact scenarios for new products and organizational changes. You will act as the bridge between enterprise growth and regulatory compliance, overseeing the operational readiness of our reporting platform to ensure data from new business initiatives is seamlessly integrated, scalable, and compliant.
* Systems Evolution and Process Improvement: Drive the evolution of our reporting platform by overseeing the implementation of automated and integrated solutions that remain scalable and resilient. You will lead and champion continuous improvement initiatives that streamline data flow and maintain rigorous governance over data lineage.
## Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications:
* A CPA (or CA, CMA, CGA, or CFA) designation in good standing and university degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
* 8+ years of progressive experience in Regulatory Reporting, Financial Reporting, or Risk Management within the financial services industry.
* Strong operational knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application, with a demonstrated ability to reconcile the nuances between financial reporting, credit-risk modelling, and regulatory data requirements.
* Proven ability to partner, advise, challenge, and hold cross-functional execution partners accountable to delivery and governance standards without direct reporting authority.
* Strong capability to act as a strategic translator, distilling complex business, technical, and regulatory concepts into clear and concise insights for diverse functional partners.
* High level of data literacy and a proven ability to leverage cloud-based data and reporting tools to drive insights and analysis (SQL, BigQuery, Tableau); a power-user of complex ERP and reporting systems who understands data lineage, system-to-system integration, and how to leverage technology to drive process efficiency.
* Experience working with Agile delivery frameworks, with a proven ability to prioritize a backlog of enhancements, navigate technical sprints, and drive iterative improvements to reporting processes and platforms.
Beneficial/Preferred Experience:
* Prior experience in Treasury, Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Operational Risk is an asset.
* Deep understanding of the Canadian financial services regulatory landscape, OSFI guidelines, and the inherent complexities of banking operations.
* A proven track record of strategic foresight and innovation, with the ability to analyze complex scenarios and identify how industry or business changes create ripple effects across reporting platforms.
