Shipping Coordinator I

Responsibilities
~2 min readCollaborates and communicates with internal departments, Program Managers, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
Unpacks delivered shipments and compares packing lists to purchase orders, ensuring accurate deliveries.
Inspect the quantities of goods delivered and determine whether parts or packaging is damaged.
Coordinate activities for US Shipments.
Assist with activities for international shipments.
Assist in determinations on method and mode of shipment to customer requirements
Examine shipping instructions for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.
Monitor packing productivity.
Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the duties to quality and productivity standards.
Contribute to preparation and expediting shipments: Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product per contract requirements; preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.
Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinate with UPS/FedEx or other transportation companies to pick up required shipments.
Knowledge of UPS WorldShip
Knowledge of FedEx shipments through the web portal.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Transportation of parts to and from outside service vendors, other site locations, and carrier drop-offs.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or minimum one (1) year of experience or combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instruction. Ability to present information and respond to questions from management.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift operation.
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
Non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
