We specialize in individual and group psychotherapy for clients with a focus on trauma-informed care. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Coordinator will engage in quality improvement (QI) and compliance activities, practice management, utilization management, and performance monitoring activities across the agency. This position will engage in auditing, reporting, and training initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory and funding requirements related to service quality and effectiveness. 
  • In collaboration with the Compliance Manager and Director of Compliance, coordinates tracking and reporting of clinical outcomes, proactive documentation auditing, and follow-up of corrective action plans.
  • Responsible for data collection and extracts data as required.
  • Prepares QI and Compliance audits. 
    Participates in staff meetings as they relate to QI activities.
  • Assists with OMH and OMIG accreditation site visits as required.
  • Reviews QI tools and surveys and provides technical assistance to staff.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of NYS Office of Mental Health and Medicaid standards, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinates care with relevant providers for hospitalized patients, engaging in discharge planning and providing follow-up appointments to hospital staff.
  • Analyzes training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Compliance, conducts ongoing technical training and personal development for employees.
  • Acts as part of an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One to two years of relevant experience, preferably in a mental health or nonprofit environment, with at least one year in a similar position and/or engaging in QI/Compliance related activities.
  • Experience developing working relationships with administrative and clinical staff.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, G-Suite, and other  software/applications
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate client mental health services and programs to ensure quality client care and conformity with prescribed laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with administrators, auditors, mental health program staff and others to provide, obtain and evaluate information, and implement changes in QI and compliance.
  • Ability to effectively train staff in Quality Improvement and Compliance principles and practices.
  • Ability to share information readily and concisely, and respect the abilities of others.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and maintain disciplined adherence to program goals.
  • Ability to work hands-on in developing and executing a variety of compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
