Are you ready to join our Investment Office in Amsterdam as part of the Liability-Driven Investments (LDI) team? Together with your LDI colleagues, you will manage the public assets of Athora Netherlands' €71bn balance sheet.

You will work closely with colleagues across and beyond the Investment Office, as well as with our strategic partner Apollo Global Management, you will develop and implement portfolio ideas and balance-sheet solutions for a complex insurance environment. The role offers broad exposure to market views, hedging, liquidity management, solution structuring, pension buyouts and quantitative projects. You will work in a collaborative environment with short communication lines, easy access to senior stakeholders and strong cooperation across teams and functions.
The Investment Office of Athora Netherlands manages the own-account investments and is responsible for the company's investment strategy. The office consists of 24 investment professionals across three teams: Corporate Investments, Asset-Backed Investments and Liability-Driven Investments supported by a Planning & Analytics Expert and a Strategist Global Markets. The Investment Office is based at Athora Netherlands' head office in Amsterdam.
You will be part of the LDI team that manages Athora's liability-driven investment portfolio, investing across rates, sovereign bonds, liquidity and derivatives while managing interest-rate, inflation, currency and liquidity exposures.
Depending on your experience, you will contribute to part or all of the following activities:
• Market/portfolio analysis and investment recommendations.
• Athora's LDI portfolio management across rates, sovereign (related) bonds, and derivatives
• Liquidity management to protect the firm's liquidity profile
• Hedge the firm's currency exposures
• Initiate, design and/or implement hedging and balance-sheet solutions.
• Execute trades across cash, bonds, and derivatives.
• Prepare governance materials (such as Investment Committee proposals), analyses and trade-related documentation to support investment decision-making and implementation.
• Strategic projects, policy development and the continuous improvement of investment processes.
All the work will be in close cooperation with internal as well as external stakeholders.
You are an analytically strong investment professional with a clear interest in financial markets, fixed income investing and balance-sheet management, and a solid technical foundation. You enjoy working on complex topics and translating them into practical, well-documented solutions. You work well in a fast-paced environment with colleagues from different disciplines, take ownership of your responsibilities and maintain a high standard of quality.
You bring also:
• A university degree in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Relevant work experience, ideally 3 to 6 years, with the ability to work independently and demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: fixed income portfolio management, financial structuring, liquidity management, and trading/execution.
• Affinity with fixed income markets, derivatives and liability-driven investing.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across different disciplines.
• Preferably a professional qualification such as CFA, VBA, CAIA or an equivalent investment-related designation, or the willingness to work towards one.
• Experience with SimCorp Dimension is a plus.
• Experience with Python, SQL or other analytical tools is an advantage.
• Residing in the Netherlands.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands and, where applicable, a valid work and residence permit.

Salary
Based on CLA salary scale 16 or 17 HAY, the monthly salary range is €5,456,28 to €7,988.31 gross, based on a 36-hour work week (depending on your knowledge and experience).
