Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Company HR related policies are applied consistently.
  • Objectively coaches associates and management through complex and difficult issues.  Provides guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action.  Assists with on-site investigations.
  • Oversees PeopleHub and Employee Central for all recruitment and onboarding.
  • Manage recruitment processes to company standards including, but not limited to sourcing, screening, posting all open positions on Company Careers site and a third-party site, for both salaried and hourly and making sure Managers are compliant with the interviewing process.  Partnering with Corporate recruitment team to post and edit requisitions
  • Ensure all pre-hire paperwork is processed in a timely manner, including but not limited to background checks, offer letters, and WOTC.
  • Lead onboarding experience for all new hires (in-person), assist in filling out all new hire onboarding paperwork and policies sign-offs, including job description and grooming standards.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining employee files up-to-date and compliant
  • Be compliant with I-9 regulations and ensure all new hires are processed on day 1 of employment
  • Maintains and coordinates associate recognition programs.
  • Serve as Platinum Service Champion in accordance with attached guidelines.  Become certified in and deliver Platinum Service training programs at time of orientation and for recertification
  • Lead with empathy & good judgment to make decisions that will support associates, leaders, and the asset; Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and make timely decisions; constantly look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. 
  • Be a champion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the day-to-day operation of all employees, providing support and understanding
  • Executive Committee team member, act as a thought partner in making decisions surrounding accountability, fairness, and consistency in the workplace
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws.
  • Regularly runs and/or reviews HR activity reports.
  • Supports internal customer survey and associate engagement survey interpretation/feedback process.
  • Attends department manager meetings to increase HR visibility, conducts classroom training, provides assistance and implements HR initiatives.
  • Reviews any request for pay increases or other status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency.  Processes status change forms.
  • Prepares, coordinates and presents HR related topics and other HR related training.
  • Acts as the diversity champion by leading assigned tasks and corporate diversity activities including diversity recruiting, retention and promotion goals.
  • Assists in the creation of Personal Development Plans, as appropriate, for associates.
  • Participates in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
  • Human Resources management in a union environment is required.
  • Previous experience as part of a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.
  • Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, and programs
  • Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
