Responsibilities

→Be involved in the design and/or execution of fieldwork programs including:
- →Drilling supervision and geotechnical logging
- →Soil testing and sampling
- →Groundwater monitoring and sampling
- →Groundwater well installation and hydraulic testing
→Critical analysis and assessment of groundwater and geological related data;
→Geospatial and 3D analysis – including GIS and Leapfrog (3D modelling);
→Conceptual assessment of groundwater flow, fate and transport;
→Quantitative groundwater assessments of flow, fate and transport using analytical as well as 2D and 3D numerical modelling tools – SEEPW, HYDRUS, MODFLOW, GoldSim;
→Preparing informative and interpretive maps, tables, and figures;
→Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
→Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid and other on-the-job training. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. Further training to enhance skills on specialist software will also be provided e.g. Leapfrog, SEEPW, GIS, MODFLOW, etc.

Bachelor’s degree in geology/earth science/geochemistry/hydrology, or engineering, or a related field of study (required)
Advanced degree in a related field of study (preferred)

Requirements

At least 7 years of relevant experience in a consulting or mining company environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required).
Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (preferred)
Demonstrated success in teamwork. (preferred)
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. (required)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines and budgets, and traveling to client facilities as needed
