Competitive compensation for onsite WA applicants is $75,000-$90,000. All applicants are welcome to apply.

What can I expect in this role?
AST is seeking a motivated and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to support reporting, data analysis, and business decision-making across the organization. This role is ideal for someone early in their analytics career who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and building reports that help teams better understand business performance.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with business leaders to develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. This position offers an opportunity to grow technical skills while gaining exposure to a variety of business functions and data sources.
Key Qualifications:
- Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards that support business decision-making.
- Create engaging and user-friendly data visualizations that communicate trends, performance, and opportunities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into reporting solutions.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Support ad hoc reporting and analytical requests across departments.
- Assist leaders in understanding business performance through meaningful data insights.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Use Power Query and other tools to prepare, organize, and transform data for reporting.
- Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting reliability.
- Conduct routine audits of reports and dashboards.
- Maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, and data sources.
- Train and support end users on Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Partner with teams to improve data accessibility and reporting effectiveness.
- Promote data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and data quality.
- Support special projects and other analytics initiatives as needed.
- Stay current on Power BI features, reporting best practices, and emerging business intelligence tools.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a related field (internships may be considered).
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, or visualizations using Power BI.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Power Query and data transformation concepts.
- Exposure to DAX, calculated measures, or KPI development is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and large datasets preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools is a plus.
- Understanding of data visualization best practices and dashboard design principles.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
- Must be willing to submit and successfully pass a background check.
This is a full-time position based in Tacoma.
