Join a technology organization supporting a major financial services environment focused on modernization, cloud adoption, and data-driven transformation. This team is building strategic data capabilities across capital markets and securities businesses, with an emphasis on scalable cloud architecture, reference data, pricing data, and future expansion into additional data domains. The environment is collaborative, globally distributed, and aligned to high-impact technology initiatives supporting complex financial products and data platforms.

Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Charlotte, NC, supporting a long-term data platform initiative within a financial services technology group. The role offers exposure to Azure cloud engineering, modern data platform development, capital markets data, and collaboration with distributed teams across the U.S. and India.

• Contribute to the design and development of a strategic enterprise data platform supporting capital markets and securities teams.
• Build and enhance data engineering solutions using Python, PySpark, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen2, and related Azure services.
• Support the initial development of reference data and securities/pricing data systems, with future expansion into additional enterprise data domains.
• Develop APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI to support scalable data access and integration.
• Partner closely with internal technology teams to follow engineering standards, DevOps practices, and cloud platform guidelines.
• Help strengthen data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data integration patterns, and cloud-native data services.

• 10+ years of relevant software/data engineering experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and PySpark development.
• Proven background as a Data Engineer working in Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Databases, Azure Functions, API Gateway/API Management, Azure Fabric, and Azure Databricks.
• Strong SQL skills across relational databases and/or NoSQL platforms.
• Experience designing and developing APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and modern data platform architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle standards.
• Financial services, capital markets, broker-dealer, swap-dealer, financial instruments, asset classes, pricing data, or market data experience is a strong plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a distributed team environment.
