RetailDepartment Manager
At Axiom Custom Products, Inc., we bring ambitious ideas to life. As a leader in fabrication for the creative, events, retail, and construction industries, we combine manufacturing with decades of hands-on expertise to deliver work that stands apart. From concept through installation, our in-house capabilities let us tackle challenging projects with precision, creativity, and craftsmanship.
We’re looking for an Install Department Manager to lead our installation team and take ownership of the people, planning, and execution behind every project. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with talented people, solving problems in real time, and taking pride in getting the details right.
You’ll lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled installers while also working alongside them in the field from time to time. You’ll be the team’s primary point of contact, providing direction on complex projects, building accountability, and creating a culture where people can do their best work. On high-profile installations and strikes, you might be right there with the team, leading from the front and ensuring the finished work meets Axiom’s standards.
Behind the scenes, you’ll work closely with engineering, shop management, and operations to set projects up for success before they ever reach the job site. You’ll review drawings and specifications, coordinate or conduct site visits, plan labor and logistics, build schedules, and allocate resources to keep projects moving efficiently and within budget. When challenges arise, you’ll be the person who steps in, finds a solution, and keeps everyone aligned.
You’ll also have an opportunity to shape how the department operates. From installation standards and workflows to managing tools, travel, safety, and labor compliance, you’ll bring structure and consistency to a fast-moving environment. Your leadership will directly influence both the performance of the team and the quality of the work we deliver to our clients.
We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience managing teams and strong, hands-on knowledge of fabrication and installation. You should be comfortable working with wood, solid surface, plastics, laminates, and metal, as well as the tools and methods used to install them. You’ll need to be confident reading architectural drawings, building schedules, and leading teams through complex installations.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver who stays organized and composed under pressure. Experience with design-led industries, CAD or ERP systems, and labor regulations is a plus.
This role combines office planning with field execution. Travel is expected, and there will be times when project demands require nights, weekends, or holidays. In return, you’ll get to work on unique, high-impact builds, lead a talented team, and have a meaningful role in shaping how Axiom delivers exceptional work.
If you’re someone who takes pride in building things the right way, leading from the front, and delivering results that exceed expectations, Axiom offers an opportunity to make a real impact.
Salary: $90,000–$110,000
