Yard Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the branch. Responsibilities will include overseeing the efficient and safe loading and off-loading of trucks, organizing, and maintaining rigging and project-related equipment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Coordinate with Dispatch, Toolroom, Project Managers, and PEG regarding loading and off-loading equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
- →Communicate with Branch Dispatch and Project Managers regularly to ensure equipment required for upcoming projects is available and ready to be used.
- →Maintain an organized and clean yard.
- →Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of Branch owned rigging and project related equipment.
- →Assist with assigning Project Related Equipment to projects in IFS Scheduling Tool.
- →Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within (6) months of hire date.
- →Obtain a CCO certificate within (1) year of hire date.
- →Obtain appropriate forklift operations qualification card(s) within (6) months of hire date.
- →Obtain Rigger qualification card within (6) months of hire date.
- →Learn about equipment used for daily and project operations.
- →Assist in the inspections of tractors and trailers. Document any deficiencies and report to Maintenance Manager promptly.
- →Encourage, train, and assist co-workers.
- →Conduct/Verify JHAs have been conducted.
- →Attend Branch operations and safety meetings.
- →Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements
~2 min read- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic rigging knowledge is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Strong organizational and communications skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative and lead by example.
- Prior experience in heavy construction or related industry preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screen, Fit for Duty, and background check.
- Ability to lift, move and work around heavy equipment safely.
