Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking an experienced Law Clerk to join our Estate Litigation department. This is a hybrid position, based out of our Barrie office, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience as an Estate Litigation Clerk including experience with respect to the responsibilities detailed below:
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Performing general administrative support in relation to Estate Litigation/Elder Law and some limited Family Law matters;
- Drafting court documents;
- Understanding the Rules of Civil Procedure relating to Estate Litigation and local practice directions.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to assist in resolving complex problems as required.
Working in a team environment with experienced law clerks, assistants and lawyers you will be responsible for handling legal work related to Estate Litigation/Elder Law matters and limited Family Law matters. A positive attitude and emphasis on maximizing client experience is a must. Program-specific IT training will be provided through our in-house IT staff, as required, on an ongoing basis.
