The Mainframe Developer will support Barrow Wise's State of Illinois project and perform the following duties:

• →Write, test, and debug code
• →Create databases and manage data
• →Collaborate with team members on projects
• →Update and maintain existing programs
• →Work with other departments to gather requirements and define project scope
• →Ensure software applications meet all performance and security standards
• →Research new technologies and software development trends
• →Provide technical support and troubleshooting
• →Writing technical documentation
• →Demonstrate strong expertise in Mainframe IMS (Information Management Systems) and MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage)
• →Perform maintenance and project tasks for the Department staff.
• →Perform duties in Springfield, IL.

An ideal candidate has the following:

• →U.S. Citizenship
• →Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related fields such as Accounting or Mathematics, or 6 years of equivalent knowledge, skill, and workplace experience
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with IMS databases
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with COBOL programming language
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with TSO (Time Sharing Option) utility
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with PANVALET (revision control and source code management system) utilities
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Office
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and transferring data from IMS files into EXCEL spreadsheets.
• →Minimum five (5) years of experience with analysis and system design
