The Franchise Development Representative serves as the first point of contact for prospective franchise candidates and owns the earliest stages of the franchise development process. This position is responsible for responding to new inquiries, reengaging prospective candidates from existing databases, conducting introductory calls and webinars, assessing initial candidate readiness, and guiding qualified prospects through the application and Franchise Disclosure Document acknowledgment process.
The Representative manages an assigned portfolio of candidates, determines appropriate next steps within established development guidelines, and prepares qualified prospects for a seamless handoff to senior members of the Franchise Development team. This is an early-career opportunity designed for someone with strong communication skills, self-motivation, exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, personal initiative, and the desire to build a career in franchise development. Previous franchise sales experience is not required. Training, coaching, and ongoing professional development will be provided.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Serve as the initial point of contact for prospective franchise candidates across one or more brands, responding to inbound inquiries and proactively reengaging older or inactive leads.
- Conduct introductory calls, informational webinars, candidate screening, and initial qualification based on financial readiness, business goals, geographic interests, timing, and overall alignment.
- Provide candidates with approved brand information, investment requirements, development process overviews, and clear guidance regarding expectations and next steps.
- Guide qualified candidates through franchise applications, financial documentation, FDD delivery and receipt acknowledgment, and other required early-stage activities.
- Coordinate candidate meetings, follow-up calls, Discovery Days, and introductions to senior Franchise Development leaders, ensuring complete and seamless handoffs.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, manage candidate follow-up, monitor pipeline progression, identify stalled opportunities, and report on top-of-funnel activity and conversion performance.
- Conduct all development activities in accordance with approved brand standards, company procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable FTC, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and FDD processes.
- Escalate potential compliance concerns, candidate delays, documentation issues, buyer-readiness concerns, or unusual circumstances to Franchise Development leadership.
- Collaborate with Franchise Development, Marketing, Operations, and other internal teams while supporting lead-generation initiatives, trade shows, conferences, Discovery Days, brand events, and special projects as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in franchise sales, business brokerage, or small business transactions.
- Demonstrated success in lead generation, candidate education, and deal facilitation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service mindset.
