Software Quality Engineer (Manual)

BBPOS is one of the world leaders in payment devices and the inventors of mPOS technology. BBPOS products are used by large retailers and leading online platforms across multiple industries.  BBPOS is engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying mobile and smart point-of-sale hardware, and the underlying software and infrastructure to deploy, manage, and monitor those devices.  BBPOS is now part of Stripe’s Terminal business since the acquisition in March 2022.  

Post acquisition, the BBPOS team is now an extension of the Stripe Terminal team.  Stripe Terminal helps Stripe users extend their online presence into the physical world. The Terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments. With Terminal, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business model—whether it’s creating a flagship retail experience, extending their website to a pop-up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at their next event.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Analyst with a strong passion for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. As a Software Quality Analyst, you will play a critical role in the software development process by conducting thorough manual testing to identify defects and verify that the software meets established quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, PMs, automation engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.

• →Collaborate with software development teams at BBPOS (Hong Kong) and Stripe Terminal (US) to identify project requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria for products such as SDKs, iOS and Android Apps, Firmware and Service products.
• →Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate software functionality and meet user requirements. 
• →Perform functional, regression and user acceptance testing to identify defects and verify stability and accuracy of software products before releasing to users. 
• →Conduct EMV Certification testing on different Credit Card brands, like VISA, Mastercard, China Union Pay on BBPOS terminal readers. 
• →Report software defects and work closely with developers and project managers to ensure resolution of identified defects and monitor resolution process. 
• →Provide timely updates on testing progress and results to project stakeholders including potential risks and impact on users. 
• →Continuously refine the testing process by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and test automation.

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Quality Analyst or Software Test Engineer with a strong focus on manual software testing in a professional environment.
• Experience with defect tracking tools and defect lifecycle management. 
• Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases and compiling testing reports. 
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and software development lifecycle.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an agile development environment.
• Proactive, self-driven, and adaptable to changing priorities and requirements.

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Quality Analyst or Software Test Engineer
• Experience with testing Mobile and Payment applications and Terminals
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, computer science, information system or equivalent experience
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
