Buckland is looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist - Classification   What you’ll be doing This position is responsible for assisting with compliance projects and managed service contracts for major clients.  This individual will provide classification of goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) system.    What we can offer you Competitive salary, benefits package, and matching retirement plan A friendly, collaborative work environment Opportunities for professional development & ongoing learning A chance to be part of a growing organization   You will be responsible for Complete HTS and ECCN tariff classification determinations, reviews, and opinions. Submit applications for customs rulings for complex tariff, origin and valuation opinions. Review and maintains database integrity by utilizing both internal and client provided software to organize, prioritize workload, drafting processes, and create reports. Provide broker and client assistance with antidumping and countervailing duty assessment or equivalent (e.g., SIMA in Canada). Liaise with significant business partners on Customs compliance issues Good written and verbal communication skills. Apply your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook. Demonstrate your meticulous attention to detail by ensuring accuracy and decision making. Driven by results working in a fast-paced environment. Maintain a well-organized calendar to balance meetings, tasks, and future initiatives. Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.   What we need from you Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Business or International Business or similar discipline. US Customs broker’s license and/or CCS designation preferred but not required. CES (Certified Export Specialist) preferred but not required. Minimum 2 years of classification experience with expert knowledge of HTS classification principles, with 1 year of experience determining ECCN export classification codes. MS Office knowledge in applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
