Operations Team Leader, Air & Ocean (Mid Shift)

Buckland is looking for an Operations Team Leader, Air & Ocean What you’ll be doing The Operations Team Leader, Air & Ocean will support customer service and shipment activities by coordinating and directing teams tasked with filing Customs entries, Exports, and in-bond transactions. The focus is on the timely filing of customs transactions and personnel management.   What we can offer you Competitive salary, benefits package, and matching retirement plan A friendly, collaborative work environment Opportunities for professional development & ongoing learning A chance to be part of a growing organization   You will be responsible for Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers by handling their requests, resolving issues and contacting them for additional documents and/or information.  Monitor shipment advances, volumes, ETAs daily ensuring the timely processing of Air, Ocean, Rail, ISF and AES advances and process flow based on best practices per shipment type. Act as liaison between CBP, other government agencies and operations to ensure compliance with CBP regulations by enhancing knowledge of new Customs Policies and regulations including PGAs and FTAs Research tariff and classification of goods and ensure entries and documentation is prepared and completed to comply with US Customs regulations.  Run internal and external reports for audits, data analysis, and cross reference. Identify possible problems and/or communicate any suggestions for operational improvements and assist in implementation of changes. Above average written and verbal communication skills. Showcase your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook. Identify potential challenges/risks and solve problems efficiently or work with Leaders for a solution. Foster a fast paced culture leading by example in terms of accountability and continuous improvement within the team. Effectively prioritize and manage the team multiple and personal tasks to meet KPI's and deadlines. To provide the highest level of customer service by leading and mentoring, fostering a positive and productive work environment and resolving escalated issues as needed.   Leadership Responsibilities Ability to manage a group of 5 to 10 employees Assist with performance evaluations for direct reports Assign tasks to team members Assists with training and guidance of direct reports Monitor work volumes of direct reports Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules   What we need from you High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years in custom brokerage or logistics experience. Intermediate MS Office knowledge. High level of organization, time management and attention to detail. Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Experience possible problems and/or communicate any suggestions for operational improvements and assist in implementation of changes. CCS Designation or LCHB training preferred. Able to function in a time sensitive environment. Demonstrate critical thinking in processes, procedures, issues, and communications. Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times. Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.
