The Organization:
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.
At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.
Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.
Human Resources Assistant:
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support across all areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee records, performance management, training, compensation, policy administration, volunteer services, and workplace safety. This position maintains accurate HR records, coordinates HR processes, supports employee programs, ensures compliance with established procedures, and delivers timely, confidential, and customer-focused HR services.
This position plays a key leadership role in advancing community engagement, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting the District's mission and brand-The Brushy Creek Life.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with posting job openings, scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate records, and assisting with recruitment coordination activities. Supports internship programs and other talent acquisition initiatives while ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with applicants.
- Assists with onboarding activities from pre-employment requirements through I-9 and E-Verify completion. Ensures accurate employee setup in the HR Management System and prepares onboarding materials and records to support a successful new hire experience.
- Supports benefits administration activities and responds to routine employee benefits-related questions. Assists with maintaining employee records, updating benefits documentation, and ensuring accurate filing and record retention practices.
- Assists with organizing employee engagement events, distributing surveys, tracking participation, and supporting employee recognition and morale-building activities.
- Schedules training sessions, maintains training records, tracks attendance, and assists with preparation of learning materials and documentation. Updates staff licensing and certifications in the HR Management System.
- Maintains HR databases, updates spreadsheets and records, and assists with routine reporting and document management activities.
- Assists with workplace safety and compliance activities by maintaining safety records, coordinating training and documentation, supporting incident reporting processes, and providing administrative support for safety programs and workers' compensation activities.
Minimum Requirement:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- One (1) to three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably in human resources, business, or a related office environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, applicants, volunteers, and the public.
