We are seeking a skilled and experianced Ranch Facilities & Grounds Technician. This individual performs a broad range of hands-on maintenance, groundskeeping, ranch infrastructure, cleaning, repair, construction assistance and property-improvement duties throughout the ranch and its buildings, roads, grounds, and agricultural areas. They must take initiative, problem solve, and work to achieve the company mission and work in alignment with our core values.
- Must be able to safely operate and properly maintain lawncare and landscaping equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, mowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, pole saws, edgers, chainsaws, etc.
- Must be able to operate and maintain hand tools and power tools including but not limited to hammers, screw drivers, drill drivers, impact drivers, reciprocating saws, jig saws, circular saws, table saws, chop saws, nail guns, finish nailers, sanders, cutoff saws, angle grinders, and other related hand or power tools.
- Must be able to operate and maintain side-by-sides and other power equipment vehicles such as quads or dirt bikes.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle while towing a trailer.
- Must be able to perform duties with consideration given to potential exposure to wild animals, agricultural livestock, uneven and steep terrain, mud, dust & gravel, insects, snakes, bees, poison oak and other vegetation, machinery and moving vehicles, noise, smoke, extreme heat/cold, remote work areas, and other conditions normally encountered in an outdoor agricultural/ranch environment.
- Perform all tasks assigned by Manager and/or Business Executives and complete as directed.
- This includes but is not limited to lawn care, construction assistance, sanding & painting, installing & maintaining fences/gates/cattle guards, landscaping, brush clearing, crop work, field irrigation, event setup and tear down, cleaning and general housekeeping related to the infrastructure at the work site. etc.
- Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
- Take initiative to help maintain clean property and facilities by sweeping, picking up, straightening, etc.
- Work in a safe, professional manner (which includes following established safe-working practices, manufacturer instructions, Company policies, training requirements, and required or recommended PPE) to safeguard the health of yourself, fellow coworkers, and other persons on company property AND to prevent damage to equipment, goods, property, and the environment.
- Must NOT operate any equipment that employee has not received specific training and authorization to operate.
- Must report any unsafe conditions immediately to Manager.
- Must report any accidents or near misses immediately to Manager.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertion, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting)
- (Frequently 20-50 lbs; Regularly 50-75lbs; Occasionally 75-100lbs)
- Walking over uneven terrain, climbing, squatting, kneeling, crouching, gripping, carrying, and repetitive use of hands/arms.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to be alert and aware of your surroundings and remain safe.
- Ability to do a variety of job related tasks throughout a given work day.
- Ability to work entire shift in various outdoor weather conditions with exposure to heat and cold, wind and rain/snow.
- Self-starter, strong work ethic and ability to work diligently without direct supervision.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Perform duties in a safe and alert manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company safety policies
- Good verbal communication skills for effective and professional communication with supervisor and management.
- Experience with hand tools, outdoor power equipment, and machinery applicable to this position is a plus.
- Experience working in an outdoor rural environment is a plus.
- Because operation of Company motor vehicles is a required function of this position, employee must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the vehicles operated and remain eligible to operate Company vehicles under the Company’s insurance requirements (this is outside employer control).
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
