- →Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for electrical installations.
- →Prepare and submit detailed and accurate project bids.
- →Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- →Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market prices for materials and labor.
- →Evaluate potential profitability of projects and provide recommendations to management.
- →Identify and implement cost-saving measures and solutions to increase project profitability.
- →Ensure all estimates comply with relevant electrical codes and standards.
- →Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
- →Monitor and report on project progress and cost performance.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
- Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification through the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International is advantageous.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and carry office supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds
