Benesch is proud to announce the opening for a Real Estate/Commercial Finance Paralegal in our Cleveland office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.

Do you have paralegal experience in commercial financing and/or banking?  Do you have experience with real estate purchases and sales? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team?  Then our Real Estate/Commercial Finance Paralegal position might be just what you're seeking!  Our Healthcare group is searching for an experienced paralegal who has the ability to manage and "run" numerous real estate deals concurrently.  This is an amazing role for the paralegal who can work independently at a senior level for an amazing group of busy attorneys.

The Real Estate/Commercial Finance Paralegal is responsible for providing support and assistance to attorneys in the coordination, management, and supervision of all aspects of litigation, including but not limited to handling caseloads, prepare drafts of legal and other documents and correspondence for attorney review; compile, analyze and summarize information and coordinate efforts between attorneys, clients outside legal counsel, opposing legal counsel, other parties and outside vendors.

  1. Drafts basic corporate documents and ancillary agreements including final drafts of ancillary finance agreements.
  2. Prepare, revise, redline and proofread various corporate documents including contracts, agreements, transactional matters, compliance, closing documents, UCCs, financing and lending, audit letters, etc.
  3. Assist with assembly of pre-closing documents and sets of executed documents for various signatures, corporate formation and dissolution documents and UCC financing statements and amendments.
  4. Manages, reviews and provides comments/input on the reviews of titles, surveys, zoning reports and finances as well as objection letters and responses.
  5. Organizes and maintains complex transaction files and folders as well as all due diligence checklists.
  6. Assists with real estate closings on acquisitions, divestures and financing matters involving purchases and sales of real estate including acquisition financing.
  7. Manages and maintains closing bibles and agenda to ensure accuracy and up-to-date with all information.
  8. Assist with running agendas, proformas and categorizing all due diligence documents.
  9. Organizes and maintains case files using a variety of automated procedures.
  10. Reviews documents for privilege and drafts privilege logs for attorney review.
  11. Performs legal and factual research.
  12. Interacts with outside entities (i.e., courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors and other law firms) to gather information or coordinate activities as needed in support of firm activities, specifically real estate closings.
  13. Acts as the liaison between case team attorneys and support staff as needed to ensure that case-specific paralegal services are meeting the team's expectations.
  14. Meet billable goals as established by practice management.

Paralegals should preferably hold a valid Paralegal certification, in addition to 5+ years of real estate, commercial finance and/or banking experience. Experience MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Must have solid time management and organizational skills; high level of accuracy and attention to detail; self-motivated and pro-active; and have excellent customer service attitude. Must be available for overtime work and travel as needed.

 

The salary range for this position is $100K to $145K.

Please note that quoted salary ranges are based on Benesch's good faith belief at the time of the job posting and are not a guarantee of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full-time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
