Electrical Assembly Technician- Panel Layout

Layout and Installation:
- Read and interpret electrical layout drawings, schematics, and mechanical prints to determine correct placement of components.
- Mark and drill holes in back panels for mounting hardware.
- Install and secure components such as:
- Contactors
- Circuit breakers
- Terminal blocks
- PLCs
- Relays
- Drives and soft starters
- Use drills, screwdrivers, torque tools, and layout templates for accurate component positioning.
- Operate manual and powered tools to prep back panels and mount devices securely.
- Ensure spacing and alignment follow UL, NEC, or customer-specific standards.
- Confirm that all components are mounted securely, with correct clearances and accessibility.
- Flag discrepancies between drawings and actual fit for correction before wiring begins.
- Work closely with fabrication, wiring, and engineering teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the build.
- Provide feedback on design improvements or recurring issues with fit and layout.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, particularly panel building.
- Excellent attention to precision and layout detail.
- Familiarity with UL standards and industrial electrical hardware.
- High school diploma or GED; technical training a plus.
