Mental Health Counseling Intern (Paid Internship)
Position Overview
The Bethel University Wellness Center seeks compassionate, motivated, and growth-oriented graduate students in mental health counseling or a related field to serve as Mental Health Counseling Interns. This paid internship is designed to provide meaningful clinical experience within a Christ-centered environment that values holistic care, personal formation, and professional excellence.
Interns will provide supervised counseling services, participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, and engage in ongoing professional and spiritual development as they prepare for careers in mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling services to students under supervision
- Conduct intake assessments and assist in treatment planning
- Maintain timely, accurate, and ethical clinical documentation
- Collaborate with Wellness Center staff, including clinical and pastoral care teams
- Participate in regular individual and group supervision
- Engage in case consultation and team meetings
- Support outreach, prevention programming, and campus wellness initiatives
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with professional guidelines

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's-level program in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related field
- Eligible for practicum/internship placement through their academic program
- Commitment to ethical practice and professional development
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Willingness to engage in a Christ-centered workplace environment
Compensation Structure
This is a paid internship. Compensation will be provided as a stipend, structured similarly to a graduate assistantship, in alignment with University policies.
Time Commitment
- Approximate weekly commitment: 15-20 hours/week
- Practicum duration: 1 semester
- Internship duration: 2 semesters
Supervision and Support
- Weekly individual supervision with a licensed clinical supervisor
- Group supervision and case consultation
- Opportunities for mentorship and professional development
