Primary Purpose
BGM is seeking a relationship-focused Service Advisor to manage client relationships, deliver exceptional service, and support the financial planning process.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives on building strong client connections, providing strategic financial guidance, and contributing to a collaborative advisory team. The Service Advisor will primarily manage ongoing client relationships while supporting more complex client needs alongside senior advisors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and retain ongoing client relationships through proactive communication and financial planning
- Conduct in-depth financial planning and analysis, including retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning
- Prepare for and lead client meetings, ensuring strategies are effectively implemented
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client service requests and inquiries
- Manage client portfolios, including asset allocation and rebalancing
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and capture additional share of wallet
- Maintain a high client retention rate (~95%)
- Ensure all client interactions and recommendations comply with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with advisors, paraplanners, and other team members to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Participate in business development activities and generate client referrals
- Stay current on market trends, financial strategies, and regulatory changes
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in a financial planning or wealth management firm
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation required
- Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, investment products, and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of professionalism, ethics, and client service orientation
- Experience with Schwab, Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro, Tamarac, or Holistiplan is a plus
