Position Overview

We are seeking reliable and hardworking Food Service Operation Workers to support dietary services operations within a healthcare facility. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, serving, and transporting food while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and performing physically demanding tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and portion food for regular and modified diets.
  • Set up serving lines and distribute meals to patients and cafeteria customers.
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment and food preparation tools safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food service areas.
  • Wash dishes using commercial dishwashing equipment and three-compartment sinks.
  • Assist with food transportation, delivery carts, and meal distribution.
  • Operate a cash register when assigned.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
  • Complete assigned duties accurately and within established productivity standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work safely around hot equipment, sharp utensils, and potentially slippery surfaces.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, dietary services, cafeteria operations, hospitality, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environments preferred.
  • Ability to work rotating schedules, including weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a DBHDD Criminal Background Screening.
  • Must pass a 10-Panel Drug Screen.
  • Must be available to work either the Early Morning Shift (5:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or Mid Morning Shift (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
  • Must be available to work rotating weekday schedules and every other weekend.
